Brief Class Description: Link Building for Small Businesses | What is the value of a link to your website? Google and other search engines use links between websites as hints about a site's worthiness to be ranked in search results. Link building is a vital part of any digital marketing strategy, and it can be especially useful for websites that struggle to rank against huge competitors like Amazon. In this workshop, you'll learn how links work and how to use that knowledge to grow your business!

In this workshop, we will:

  • Learn how links function within the world of search engine optimization (SEO)

  • Discuss the dos and don'ts of learning new links

  • Explore opportunities for link building, even in highly competitive industries

What you can bring:

  • A laptop and the URL of a website to use as an example, even if it's not your own

  • Basic knowledge of SEO may provide a good foundation for the topics we'll discuss, but it isn't necessary.

What you will go home with:

  • Information about evaluating existing links and link opportunities

  • Link building outreach ideas for your website and industry

  • Tips and tricks for earning new links without breaking Google's webmaster guidelines
